Jay Chenoweth

In Sympathy
Jay Chenoweth, CEO of Texas Welders Supply Company Inc. (TWSCO) in Houston, TX, passed away on September 24, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 45 years old. Mr. Chenoweth joined TWSCO, a family-owned business, in May 1986, and worked alongside of his father, Dan, and brothers Scott and Lee. He took great pride in TWSCO's success and was eager to share best practices with colleagues. In a 2007 interview with Welding & Gases Today magazine, Mr. Chenoweth detailed his experiences with what was then a new technology to the industry, GPS. An early adopter of the equipment, he knew it would make his company more efficient and was not hesitant to describe the good and bad to help other members. His brother Scott says, "Jay was a great leader and a great brother. I hope people remember him for his sense of humor and his devotion to his family. He will be missed by all TWSCO employees." Mr. Chenoweth is survived by his wife Mary Beauchamp-Chenoweth, sons John and William, father Dan, and brothers Scott and Lee.
