In Sympathy
John Frederick Conine, 59, former owner of the Jimmie Jones Co. in Tulsa, OK, was killed when his SUV left an exit ramp on a turnpike in Oklahoma, traveled 200 feet down an embankment and into a pond. The vehicle was submerged in 15 feet of water for more than an hour and a half. There was no guardrail at the exit, which has been the scene of other fatalities.
After selling Jimmie Jones Co. to Airgas, Mr. Conine concentrated on his other business, Fadler Co. Inc., a regional food product distributor.
