GTW
and Erie Technologies Announce a Partnership to
Produce New Cryogenic Storage Equipment
Both
Gallatin Tank Works (GTW) and Erie Technologies
are privately held by the same entity. Both are
operated and managed by the same personnel. The
relationship between the two is simple: GTW provides
sales, service and leasing of new cryogenic storage
equipment, while Erie Technologies provides sales,
service and remanu- facture of used cryogenic
storage equipment, as well as manufacturing cylinder
filling equipment. Erie also has a field service
team that will both install and repair all of
the above.
"I
see the product relationship as complementary
between the companies. It is tough to beat great
product and great service. We are excited with
the current business model and look forward to
servicing the industrial gas market," says
Sales Manager Phil Bauman.
GTW's
engineering team has worked extensively with Inox
Ltd. to engineer a vessel that will support the
needs of the U.S. market. That vessel is then
finished and piped at Erie Technologies to the
specifications of the customer. GTW currently
has several vessels in the field as well as in
stock. Our customer list includes independent
distributors as well as major gas suppliers.
GTW's
business model is to have new vessels in stock
which are piped to the customer's individual needs
and/or specification and to ship within two weeks.
However, stocking attempts have not been able
to keep up with demand. A stocking production
run is scheduled for early September 2007. GTW
currently is taking orders for these tanks. If
the customer's requirement is not in stock, GTW's
lead times are competitive with the industry.
The product line includes vessels from 250 gallons
to 15,000 gallons, with pressures up to 475 psig.
A complete listing can be viewed at www.gallatintankworks.com.
Erie
Technologies is a cryogenic equipment manufacturing,
sales and service company. Erie sells, services
and remanufactures cryogenic vessels, including
stationary and transport vessels, and sells and
services cylinder filling equipment from transfill
systems to semi-automated fill systems. A field
service team supports most cryogenic applications
and piping systems. Erie currently operates out
of a facility with 34,000 sq. ft. under roof in
Ottawa Lake, Michigan. Learn more at www.erie-tech.com.

Supreme Court Strikes Down Minimum Retail Pricing Ban
On June
28, the Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision that minimum
retail price agreements between manufacturers and distributors
do not automatically violate antitrust laws. Writing for the
majority, Justice Anthony Kennedy observed that minimum price
agreements can benefit consumers by enabling retailers to
invest in customer service or provide more retail space to
a specific product without fear of being undercut by discount
rivals.
